How To Speed Up Windows XP

The default installation of Windows XP includes features and processes most users do not need. If you are involved in games or multimedia, and can not afford a top-of-the-range PC, here are some tips to get the most from your machine. For novice users: 1. Go to:> Start, Control Panel> Display> Settings. Select: 800 x 600 pixel resolution and color, medium quality (16 bit). Click: Apply. What it does: reduces system overhead. Less work for the CPU. 2. Go to: Start. Right-click My Computer. Advanced 'Select: Properties> tab "> Key Performance>" Settings ">" Visual Effects tab. Select Adjust for best performance. Click: Apply.
